Baptism

We rejoice with you in the coming of your baby!  Whether your baby is born or still "on the way", we are happy to be a part of the planning of his or her Baptism.

Out lined below is our Baptism Program.  Hopefully, it will give you the chance to understand better this Sacrament,  and to see more clearly the responsibility that is yours in seeking Baptism for your child.

Interview:  Parents are asked to call the Rectory for an appointment with a priest at least two months in advance.  During this meeting, you will talk with him about the Baptism arrangements.

Class:  The purpose of this meeting is to help you be more aware of your faith - its implications and demands - and enable you to make an informed decision concerning the Baptism and your child.  A focus of Baptism, what it is and how we celebrate it (both parents and godparents are required to attend - if possible please do not bring children to class).  This instruction may be attended during pregnancy.

Presentation Sunday:  At a short ceremony during one of the Sunday Masses, your child wll receive a special blessing and welcome from his/her parish faith community as we undertake to support and encourage you during this preparation time.  The time of the Mass will be decided by those who attend the class.

Celebration of Baptism:  We celebrate Baptism at 2:30 p.m., on the fourth Sunday of each month in English and the third Sunday of each month in Spanish.

We hope this experience will be for you an enjoyable and enriching one, and we wish again to express to you our warmest congratulations and welcome as your baby becomes part of our Parish Faith Community.
