The priests, sisters and parishioners of Immaculate Conception parish extend our deepest sympathy to you at the death of your loved one and wish to offer you our support in whatever way we can be of assistance.
We encourage the family’s participation in the funeral liturgy. The following guidelines are intended to help you in the planning:
Family involvement may include:
Choosing Scripture Readings Choosing appropriate music Presenting the gifts at the Offertory Ministering as lector, altar server or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion Giving a brief reflection in gratitude for the life of the deceased (see guidelines)
The planning sheet will offer suggestions with the practical details. If you choose not to do any of the above, that is perfectly all right. The priest will take care of it. If you wish to give some facts about the deceased, please submit these, along with the planning sheet, to the priest at the wake service the day before the funeral liturgy. (please click for the Funeral Guidelines and Planning Sheet)
Two members of our Ministry of Consolation will visit the wake to help you in planning the Liturgy.
Thank you and God bless you,
Rev. Monsignor Fernando Ferrarese Pastor
